Blog Under Construction

So you may have noticed my Title is shifted and I haven’t corrected it. That is because my blog is under reconstruction. I am taking Jessica Sprague’s Bloom Your Blog class and ‘The View’ is about to take on a new look. Her class is quite in-depth and I am so glad that I can go back and watch the videos again and again.
Anyway, this is my mood board for my new look.  Watch this space.

Project Life Week 12

Hey guys, yes I know I did a week 12 last week. It was actually week 11 but I was showcasing a week 12 template for a designer. (are you confused yet!?) Anyway, this is MY week 12. Only one page this week because I have been SOOO sick and not much to report. However, I thought this was a great content for a LO.

I also learned how to make screen shots this week and the tutorial is here. No need to download a program as you probably have the tool already!.  You will be seeing more screen shots from me.

These great journal cards are from Template Dreams and are included in her ‘My Lucky Charm’ digi Bundle.

How Make Clippings of Online Content For Use In Project Life–A Tutorial

Discovered this fab little trick this week while taking J Sprague’s “How to Bloom Your Blog” and decided that I must share it. I had seen various digi PL pages with a clipping of a weather report included and so wanted to incorporate them into mine. I have been a little slow with this addition because I didn’t want to download yet another program. So glad I waited because I already have the means and you most probably do to.

So here is the picture of my screen with my little weather app. I go to the start menu and in the search bar type ‘Snip” and explorer brings up the ‘Snipping Tool”

Click on it to open it and you will get this little menu box.

Your curser will be a + that you take to the corner of what you want to snip and you click and drag until you have what you want. It will then give you a new menu box with your clipping inside. Here you can save to your computer and you can save as PNG, GIFF, HTML, or JPG.

Equally, it works on internet pages such as this one that I clipped the logo. Voila!

Go have fun!

Hello Spring

Hello 1st day of Spring! Oh, how we have longed for you. : )

I have had 8 days of sickness. I know because I counted everyday that I felt impatient as I waited to be well. I think I have finally turned a corner because my momentum is returning and with it a flood of excitement for Easter celebrations. I suddenly realized this afternoon that I was headache free and could smile again (as opposed to crying). I am a big baby when I am sick purely because I hate to be still.

As soon as the headache left my brain began to tick over with all that I should be creating. Must go I need to get cracking, no egg jokes!

I love this kit by Template Dreams called He Has Risen. I also used the Template Bundle called Simple Layouts. You can get the kit Here and the Template Here

Project Life Week 12

This week I did something different from the usual BH Templates and kit. I used NBK-Designs ready made Template and added some embellishments.

It was great because I have had a sick week and it was a good week for content so I didn’t want to skip it and get behind.

I am so enjoying being current. It helps the info stay fresh and I can blog about my feelings much more freely.

I also revived my old posting of what I am reading, watching, learning etc., I used to do this once a month on my blog and I stopped doing it. However, when I looked back I enjoyed reading and re-living the memories.

Here’s NBK-Designs template

You can get it singly, in a bundle or with a kit. Here

I also used January Wordsnippets with Page 2

If you are visiting from Mom Creative, welcome.

Blog Decisions, Can anyone Help With Input?

Hello friends,

I would love to get some feed back on this as I am trying to make some blogging decisions. I have no less that 4 blogs! Yes that’s right, 4 blogs. I am not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing.

When I originally started this blog it was meant to be everything me. The View has been everything about me. My community, yes you lovely peeps, are mostly crafters like myself and so I lend myself in that direction most of all. I never have a shortage of things to post as I am bit prolific when it comes to communicating and my problem is more to do with over posting.

So, this is why 4 blogs. The View, A City Girl Gone Country which is about my move to the USA, Ready To Soar which has barely got off the ground and was meant to be of a spiritual nature, and journey logged by a pilgrim which captured my teaching lesson’s and links for Children’s clubs. I know when I see people have more that one blog I usually don’t go passed the first address and so I am also concerned that people will respond the same to me. This means I have dilemmas about where to post things so that they will get seen.

I love the View and this is my 4th year to post.  When I want to post about anything I always want to come here first. However, I have started to be a little boring with my posts lately. Looking back over 2011 I see lots of reflection and beautiful pics but since I have been showcasing Digi LO’s I have lost that edge. Maybe I should put those on a separate page? Would people see the new addition in their reader?

So how do I resolve these issues. Have any of you had the same issues. How have you resolved them. Any suggestions please?

I am taking Jessica Sprague’s Class Bloom Your Blog over the next two weeks. It is a course about Blog Design. However, I realize I need to sort these other issues first so that I can make my decisions more simply. Would love to see your input.

I Will Live – OLW, my Declaration.

Christine Smith – Memorable and Captivated Visions – Yes You Can

I did not sign up for OLW this year, and join the ranks, mostly because I bombed out last year due to my unforeseen Trans-Atlantic move and feeling guilty that I did not complete it. So, I am making a do over all by myself. I noticed some one had created a wish board which seemed like a good idea. However, at 52 I don’t have time to wish anymore so I made a ‘declaration’ board. Well, maybe it will catch on.

I combined the two kits with the exception of the flower and butterfly's in the right bottom corner. Then in the same rust tone as the paint stroke I journald over the top.

I think I might print this in 12 x 12 and hang it by my mirror.  So what territory do you want to claim this year.

Remembrance – Journal on Your LO

I was invited to create for Rebel Without A Pause. Having four Designers that I am working for already I was a little reluctant. However, she chose me because of my journaling style. She’s been researching family history for over 25 years and as a result she began to make and sell heritage style digital art. AND she has designed loads!
Posting to Digital galleries I have noticed a trend in making beautiful works of art that have little journaling. I know a lot of my readers do paper scrapping and, from what I have learned, our hearts have always been to capture the memory not only the picture. Works of art are amazing but if we want to leave anything for our offspring they will want to know about the occasion what it meant to us.
I can’t resist working with her to see where it will take us. Here’s the first kit I chose;-
1RWAP_0700_Rem You can purchase it here
Here’s my first LO
I used Jellebelleke's Designs Template called Spring is Coming and you can purchase the bundle here

LO’s and Templates by Jellebelleke’s Designs

This Template Bundle is called Juicy 01. I presume ‘01’ means there will be more and this makes me very happy. I love circle templates! Circles seem to add so much to a layout. You can purchase this bundle here and it’s on sale right now!

I love this layout. Look at the expression in ‘Pa’s’ face and look at Jamie’s face as he looks at Chester.

This next template set is called Let’s Do It

and can be purchased here

Time for Coffee

I have some very talented blog friends and keeping up with them reminds me to be a little more creative than just posting my LO’s. After all my blog was meant to be a journal about life!
Over at Creating Paper Dreams the very lovely Abi is having tea and you are the guest. She has created a link-up blog post encouraging us to share our lives. So get ready for a nice long visit!
I’m a coffee gal myself and anyone who knows me knows that about me. Being a complete coffee snob I won’t buy instant and I select my coffee like I’m making a house purchase!  It will be good and hot and there will be lots of it. As much as I would love to bake, I don’t. Life is too short. Entenmann’s make the best donuts!  Sorry fellow Brits, I know I let the side down but I prefer the American mid morning snack to the British afternoon tea! (oh! and my European friend trained me to serve chocolate with the coffee so there will be some of that too)
I would warn you that you have caught me in a somber mood today. You see, it has been a long time since I entertained girlfriends.  My move to the USA last October, although a very good move, has left a bit of a hole. I would share that I woke up this morning thinking about four very special friends and wonder if they know how much I love and miss them. I’m drying my eyes with a tissue now, please excuse me. I would move on quickly so as not to spoil our visit. Well the coffee is brewed so lets go sit on the couch. It’s still not warm enough in Virginia for to sit outdoors but we will certainly go for a walk before the visit is over.

I would share with you how content I am. How all the hard work prior to the move was worth it. I would also share how all the concerns we had that prompted us to move have begun to remedy themselves and God, true to His word, lead us in the right direction. I would pause for a moment and breath it all in. I live in beautiful surroundings that contrast so sharply with the city scape that we used to know.

Drinking the last dregs I would jump to my feet and ask you to join me for a walk. I feel so refreshed outdoors and so invigorated. There’s extra wellies at the door. We would take Lilly my sweet and loyal pup. We would giggle as her rump would go up and down as she runs excitedly ahead of us. I would take you down the drive and through the little green grassy walk. We stop and chat as Lilly hunts. I would share my plans for this year. To press on with my desire to teach Elementary. I will be starting again. First I will volunteer then I will be a substitute while I am getting my license. God knows. I can’t worry about income at this point although that will be an issue.
You will look at the scenery and give me a friendly hug. You will tell me that you are happy for me and that things will all turn out well. Then you will snug your windbreaker into your neck and we will head for the house. After checking your watch you will take your leave. You thank me for the coffee and pull yourself away. Thanks for being here today!
